Simple operation
You can choose and customise selected coffee variations like espresso, café crème, cappuccino and latte macchiato simply via the direct keys – this is possible even during dispensing. You can also dispense hot milk, milk froth and hot water directly. The step-by-step instructions on the text display ensure simple operation.
Manual Bean Select
This automatic coffeemaker has a steel conical burr grinder and a dual-chamber bean container. The “Manual Bean Select” function allows you to choose between two different bean varieties. You can manually select the right coffee beans for your favourite coffee. The integrated ground coffee chute also allows you to use coffee that has already been ground.
Individual coffee enjoyment
This automatic coffeemaker allows you to save custom recipes for up to four people. This means that you will not have to set your personalised coffee preferences each time you dispense a beverage. In addition to the brewing strength (four settings) and the grinding fineness (five settings), you can also adjust the temperature and coffee quantity to your individual taste. The “Double Cup” function allows you to prepare two coffee specialities at the same time – with or without milk – and enjoy them in company.
Coffee enjoyment – original preparation
Thanks to the pre-infusion function, the freshly ground coffee powder is dampened briefly before the actual brewing process to achieve optimum development of the coffee flavour. The “Italian Preparation Process” additionally ensures a particularly authentic taste as the ingredients are combined in the right order using the original Italian recipe. This means that, for latte macchiato, the espresso is added after the milk and the milk froth. For cappuccino, it is exactly the opposite.

Height-adjustable all-in-one outlet
“All in One” and still kept neatly apart: the separate nozzles in the dispensing outlet for coffee, milk and hot water allow simple preparation of a wide range of beverages. Very simply at the push of a button and without moving the cup. Glasses and tall cups also fit under the height-adjustable dispensing outlet (140 mm) – the integrated LED lighting presents your favourite coffee in the proper light and adds to the pleasant anticipation of your moment of coffee enjoyment.
Simple cleaning
It is important to clean your automatic coffeemaker on a regular basis to ensure it works perfectly, gives you the best coffee flavour and has a long life. The display on your automatic coffeemaker tells you when cleaning or descaling is necessary, and guides you through the process with simple step-by-step instructions. The brewing unit is simple to remove so you can also clean the interior easily. Furthermore, we recommend using a Melitta® Pro Aqua water filter. It not only filters the water each time a beverage is dispensed, it also prevents limescale deposits in the water circuit. This ensures a long life for your automatic coffeemaker and true coffee flavour.
Cleaning milk system
The “Easy Steam Cleaning” function allows you to clean all milk system parts quickly and hygienically with hot water and steam after beverages are dispensed. Furthermore, you can simply remove them for even more intensive cleaning. The supplied milk container can be kept in the refrigerator and cleaned in the dishwasher.
Conscious operation
For the sake of the environment: our Melitta® automatic coffeemakers have a practical Auto OFF function in addition to a programmable energy-saving mode. This allows you to set the automatic switch-off time for your coffeemaker – for particularly economic usage. Of course, you can alternatively switch the appliance off manually via the 0-Watt switch. We have also developed our own sustainability label called Mission Eco&Care. It will help you choose an appliance that guarantees conscious enjoyment.

Brilliamt
I absolutely love this machine! I've edited my choices and it's perfect every time. The ONLY thing I would want is one more milk container so we don't have to pour left over milk back in the bottle when we need to change from dairy to oat every time. Can I get another container?

An absolutely brilliant machine. So easy to use and every cup has been a success! We found the deep cleaning also to be a success, once we understood what we were doing?
Too hard to maintain and does not like Waitrose Columbian Beans
This review is after 3 months of use and a return to Mellita, who say it is working perfectly. This machine has been so hard to maintain and look after, with the drip tray requiring emptying and brewing unit requiring cleaning much more often that the instruction manual suggests. We have tried the OEM cleaning tablets but it has made no difference. There are also a number of issues:
1. It clearly does not like Waitrose Columbian beans - possibly too oily. If you like a 4 bean strength espresso, the brew head clogs up every two days.
2. The hottest setting on all drinks is apparently to spec but is certainly not hot enough for a cappuccino.
We gave up using the milk side of it as it cooled a capuccino, (although the latte was hot) and the milk went off - even in the fridge - if you tried to store it in the container. We are now just using the machine as an espresso machine and have gone back to the Nespresso milk frother.
All in all, a very unsatisfactory experience. I suspect we will go back to a standard pump machine when this dies. We only tried it as we thought it would involve less faff.
I have now had chance to test this machine, this is an amazing machine. This is my third in 10 years, but the first Melitta. This is the most superior by far and actually really competitive, due to their price. The coffee bean store is a great idea, wh
I cannot fault this machine
Good, but also slight disappointment
Great machine once set up and got used to it, but I have a major niggle, in that I can't use Starbucks Espresso Beans in it.
Every time I put SB Espresso Beans in, the machine kept saying to refill beans, even though it was full. The coffee was being accepted and ground but not brewing.
After searching online, turns out the machine doesn't like oily beans, which SB Espresso is.
I tried some Lavazza beans which weren't oily and these went thru fine.
I have since purchased some Starbucks Holiday Blend Beans and mixed them with my Espresso Beans and this seems to work OK.
Disappointing after paying so much for a machine, that you can't use your favourite coffee.
The milk frother is really good and the way the machine Auto cleans is also great.
I would buy this machine again, but never at the full retail price, I would expect alot more for this price.
