The drive may possibly not be in the correct position. Check whether the water tank is filled and the drip tray is inserted. Switch the appliance OFF and ON again and then press the "Coffee" and "Cappuccino" direct keys simultaneously for longer than 2 seconds. The drive moves into position. Then reinsert the brewing unit and check that it is correctly locked.

By turning the water quantity regulator, you can infinitely adjust the beverages for your coffee up to a maximum of 220 ml. This applies to coffee, cappuccino, water and milk froth. The maximum quantity for latte macchiato is 300 ml. Turn the regulator to the left to obtain less coffee. Turn it to the right to increase the coffee quantity.

Press the Water/Service button for longer than 2 seconds to access service mode 1. Now press the Water/service button repeatedly until the Steam dispensing display flashes. Then press the "Brewing strength" direct key repeatedly until the desired brewing temperature is set. You can choose from low (1 coffee bean), medium (2 coffee beans) and high (3 coffee beans).

To adjust the grinding fineness, open the cover on the right-hand side and prepare any coffee drink. Move the grinding fineness adjustment lever to the left with the grinder running in order to set a finer grinding fineness or to the right to set a coarser grinding fineness. Please note that the grinding fineness may only be adjusted when the grinder is running, as the grinder may otherwise be damaged. Then close the cover again.

Pull the milk hose off the outlet and disassemble the milk unit into its individual parts. Then, clean all individual parts with warm water. Use a soft, moist cloth and washing up liquid for this. Then reassemble the milk unit properly. Make sure that the milk unit is pushed upwards to the end stop when you refit it.

Place a vessel with a capacity of at least 500 ml under the outlet as a collecting container. Fill a second vessel with cleaning solution. Now insert the milk hose into the cleaning solution and press the "Milk froth" direct key and the Water/service button for longer than 2 seconds. The “Cleaning” and “Steam dispensing” displays flash. Wait until the appliance has rinsed (approx. 70 sec.). Do not be surprised if a small quantity of cleaning solution is left in the container. Fill the second container with 500 ml of tap water and press the "Milk froth" direct key and the Water/service button again. Again, water may still be left in the container.

Finally, perform a quick clean with water. To do this, insert the milk hose into a container with clean tap water and press the "Milk froth" direct key for longer than 2 seconds. The appliance rinses and is now ready for operation again.
