Check the standard settings in the main menu. The temperature for coffee should be set to high. If the beverages are still not warm enough, please try increasing the coffee quantity. You can also reduce the amount of milk or set it to zero and increase the amount of milk froth accordingly.
The drip tray should only ever be emptied when the appliance is switched on. Emptying when the appliance is not switched on is not recognised by the appliance and can lead to incorrect messages. Pull out the drawer while the appliance is switched on and then reinsert it.
a) The milk unit may possibly be clogged with milk residue. Remove the milk unit and clean it under running water. You can also clean the milk unit with rinsing water. Run the "Intensive Cleaning" program (cleaning program for the milk system) as per your operating instructions. If possible, run the quick and hygienic "Easy Cleaning" program each time after dispensing milk by confirming the "Easy Cleaning?"display shown on the display twice using the rotary switch. The "Easy Cleaning" program prevents milk residues from being deposited and sticking in the milk hose and guarantees that your milk unit always remains hygienic. Perform descaling.
b) The ascending milk container tube may possibly not be connected properly to the lid. Check whether the ascending tube is connected properly to the lid.
c) The milk hose may possibly not be connected properly to the outlet and/or the milk container. Check whether the milk hose is properly connected.
Press and hold the rotary switch for at least three seconds; the display switches to the "Settings" menu. You then select the "Care" menu option here. You can now choose from the various programs for descaling or cleaning.
"Easy Cleaning" is hygienic quick rinsing for the milk system. In this process, the milk system is cleaned with hot water and finally with a jet of steam. If possible, you should do this each time after dispensing milk⁄milk froth in order to prevent blocking the milk hose/milk system. The machine reminds you to do this automatically, but you can also call "Easy Cleaning" up using the "Care" menu item.
"Intensive Cleaning" is the cleaning program for the milk system. We recommend running "Intensive Cleaning" at least once a week as required, but the machine will also draw your attention to this automatically. You need the Melitta® PerfectCLEAN milk system cleaner to run the "Intensive Cleaning" program. Pour 50 ml (one graduation mark) of the cleaner into the milk container and fill it up with 450 ml warm water (up to the 0.5 l mark). Start the "Intensive Cleaning" program using the "Care" menu item. After cleaning, rinse the milk container thoroughly with water.

The grinding fineness adjustment lever is located on the rear side of the machine. Move the lever to the left with the grinder running in order to set a finer grinding fineness or to the right to set a coarser grinding fineness. Please note that the grinding fineness may only be adjusted when the grinder is running, as the grinder may otherwise be damaged.
